The Ninth International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM-15) was held May 26-29, 2015 in Oxford, United Kingdom.  The conference general chair was Daniele Quercia. The local chair was Bernie Hogan. The conference program cochairs were Meeyoung Cha, Cecilia Mascolo, and Christian Sandvig. The conference was sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. 

With the help of the entire community — authors, reviewers, sponsors, steering committee and conference organizers — ICWSM has evolved into the premier venue for social media research. This year there were 343 full paper submissions. Of these, 64 were accepted, an acceptance rate of 19 percent. All the accepted full papers were presented in both oral format and poster format. There were also 57 poster submissions. Of these, 37 were accepted; they appear in the proceedings as four-page summaries. There were 9 demonstration submissions. Of these, 3 were accepted; they appear in the proceedings as two-page summaries. Finally, there were 20 workshop submissions, and 7 were accepted. The workshops were held on the first day of the conference, Tuesday May 26th.
