The Fourth AAAI Symposium on Educational Advances in AI was held at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue on Seattle’s Eastside in Bellevue, Washington, USA. EAAI was held in conjunction with the the Twenty-Sixth AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and, its papers  were published as part of these proceedings in volume 3. The EAAI 2013 Symposium was cochaired by Laura E. Brown (Michigan Technological University, USA) and David Kauchak (Middlebury College, USA).

EAAI-13 seeks to advance the AAAI goal of improving the teaching and training of AI practitioners. The symposium provides a venue for both researchers and educators to discuss pedagogical issues and share resources related to teaching AI and using AI in education across a variety of curricular levels (K-12 through postgraduate training).
Organized as an independent symposium within the AAAI conference, EAAI provides the opportunity for academics and researchers to share educational experiences involving AI. Attendees with both research and education components in their work now have venues for knowledge dissemination. Moreover, educators can discuss the growing impact of AI in teaching at a variety of levels, from introductory computing to graduate-level concepts.
EAAI-13 is composed of multiple components, including a technical program of high-quality, refereed papers and invited talks, a special session of peer-reviewed Model AI Assignments that highlight innovative, ready-to-adopt course assignments. Components of the 2013 symposium included a panel on new trends in undergraduate AI Robotics courses, platforms, and curricula, a panel on education and AI, and a workshop for mentoring new faculty/graduate students on teaching.

The EAAI conference is sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.
