The Tenth Annual Symposium on Combinatorial was held at Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, from June 16–17, 2017. The symposium cochairs were Alex Fukunaga and Akihiro Kishimoto. The proceedings were published by AAAI Press.
Thee objective of SoCS is to gather computer science researchers working on the area of combinatorial search. This area is relevant to several research communities, including artificial intelligence, automated planning, operations research, and robotics. SoCS is thus a venue attended by experts of different subfields, providing an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and boost cross-fertilization among these subfields. The SoCS 2017 proceedings includes rigorously peer-reviewed long papers and short papers, as well as some extended abstracts that report preliminary results and ongoing work. The program committee accepted 20 of the 36 full paper submissions (55.6 percent acceptance rate). The authors of 5 of the rejected full paper submissions which were identified by the PC as showing significant potential were given the option of including a two-page version in this proceedings as extended abstracts.
