The second annual conference International Association for Safe & Ethical Artificial Intelligence's (IASEAI'26) was held from February 24-26, 2026 at UNESCO House in Paris, France. Mark Nitzberg served as Interim Executive Director and Conference Chair, Stuart Russell as President pro tem, and Atoosa Kasirzadeh as conference program co-chair.

IASEAI was founded to ensure that AI systems operate safely and ethically for the benefit of all humanity. The organization brings together individuals, research groups, and institutions that share these goals, working to accelerate research, shape public understanding, and influence policy. IASEAI sees AI as potentially beneficial, but believes current systems are being developed without adequate safeguards. As these systems become more capable and take on larger roles in critical social and economic functions, guarantees of safe and beneficial operation become essential. The organization calls for policy development that draws on input from both experts and affected communities to encourage the creation of AI systems that can support such assurances.
